Twenty-six students enrolled in the Introduction to Health Care and Health Career Science programs at the Wexford-Missaukee Career Technical Center recently competed at the state HOSA Conference in Acme, Michigan on April 14-15, 2016.  These students earned the privilege of competing at the state level by receiving either a gold or silver medal at the regional conference in February.  During the two day event, over 2,800 students from across Michigan competed in over 40 events.

A special congratulations to the Introduction to Health Care program students who received awards at the conference.  Anastasia Gugle (Pine River HS) received a bronze medal in the Medical Interviewing Skills event.  The team of Raden Holmes (Pine River HS), Hailey Pylkas (Lake City HS), and Madeline Schultz (Manton HS) received Top 8 in the Medical Innovation event.

HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) is a national student organization that promotes career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
