posted Oct 19, 2015, 9:19 AM by Jennifer Gaffke

The Wexford-Missaukee Early College is pleased to announce the enrollment of 17 new junior students into the 3rd Cohort group of the Early College program.  The Early College program currently has 18 senior students completing coursework at the Career Technical Center and nineteen 13th year students completing degree coursework on the Baker College of Cadillac campus.

The Wexford-Missaukee Early College program is designed for students attending public schools in the Wexford-Missaukee service area and entering their junior year of high school.  Students have the opportunity to earn up to an Associate’s Degree in Computer Networking, Criminal Justice, Welding, and Business.  The cost of the program during the three year experience is free to students.

Early College students begin their coursework at the Wexford-Missaukee Career Technical Center taking 4-5 classes during their junior year and 4-5 classes during their senior year.  During the 13th year, students attend the Baker College of Cadillac campus and continue taking coursework towards the completion of their Associate Degree and complete one final high school class.  A specialized advisor is assigned to the cohort to ensure personalized advising, EDP development, and intervention strategies, if needed.

The Wexford-Missaukee Early College program enrolls new cohorts every Spring.  Students interested in applying to the Wexford-Missaukee Early College should talk to their high school counselor or contact Meghan Howell, Early College Coordinator, at 231-876-4804.
