The Wexford-Missaukee Career Technical Center (CTC) recently awarded 10 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications, an industry-recognized, standards-based credential for validating Microsoft Office skills, to students enrolled in the Business Management Administration (BMA) program.

“As we reach this milestone of students in SY2014-2015 school year, we have seen the immediate benefits of implementing the Microsoft IT Academy program and helping our students earn the Microsoft Office Specialist certification,” said Ms. Tera Gregg, BMA Instructor, at Wexford Missaukee CTC. “Many students have discovered an interest in technology and our students will be able to benefit their co-operative learning jobs and ensuing jobs due to their new skills. We look forward to helping even more students earn this valuable industry credential in the coming years.”

The MOS certification is recognized globally by academia and business as the premier credential for individuals seeking to validate their knowledge, skills and abilities related to the Microsoft Office applications. WMCTC began offering the MOS certification in the 2014-15 school year to the students in the Business Management Administration (BMA) courses, through their partnership with Certiport, a Pearson VUE business.

The Microsoft IT Academy provides a convenient and flexible learning environment where students can get handson experience with the latest technology to gain a competitive edge in today’s job market or the next step in their academics. The IT Academy, in the BMA program is where students learn to master the Microsoft applications and can earn Microsoft Certification - in addition to the other benefits from the program, such as college credits and realworld experiences.
