At the Wexford Missaukee Intermediate School District, center-based programs serve students of all grades and abilities, fostering learning through creativity and connection. In Mrs. King’s classroom, seventh-grade student, Jaycion, is learning to play the guitar—currently mastering the iconic intro to “Smoke on the Water.”
As part of the classroom’s incentive program, students can earn guitar lessons from paraprofessional Mr. Anderson, blending motivation with music. The dedicated staff in Mrs. King’s room have done an exceptional job of building strong relationships with their students and using their unique strengths and interests to support growth in social and emotional skills.
