Attendees listening to a paraprofessional share their knowledge

Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) are a vital part of ongoing training, collaboration, and professional growth at the Wexford-Missaukee Intermediate School District. This year, the district’s special education paraprofessionals have launched their own PLC, creating new opportunities to learn and grow together.

Each month, paraprofessionals from across center-based programs come together to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and seek input from their colleagues. They leave each session with practical strategies and tools to apply in their classrooms, strengthening instruction and student support.

The group is facilitated by Val O’Neill, Brittany Sinkel, and Tonya Jesweak, who guide the sessions and help foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
